Tried the antifreeze mix, with chocolate biscuits and mushed up Mars bars, all covered in the grease out of the Sunday roast trays . They love it! Never seen so many, since using it! Let's face it, some of you guys must live in a different world. Do you really think that Vic should go out and buy some ferrets and a Jack Russell?                    Some mopheads on here ain't there?  Give us some credit PLEASE!       All the councils gear has gone, and it's another week before they return. Perhaps without the anti freeze, they may have died

of hyperthermia, the way the weather has been. lol.

rats are clever ive had a problem from the hedge row behind my lofts holes in loft etc put down a tray of sleymore poison and 2 rat traps with peanuts glued onto the plate .

day 1 all poison gone and 1 rat in trap

day2 all poison gone and 0 in trap

day3 half poison gone none in trap

day 4 half poison gone none in trap

day 5 no poison gone none in trap

notice a pattern only had 1 trapped the other left the traps for the bait well its been 4 days now no holes in loft no bait gone from dish so hopefully got on top of them now but always keep bait down if the rats have an easy feed outside the loft they wont try and get into your loft for food .

I done same thing as you I put to small blocks of poison out the first night next day it was gone. Then 4 blocks next day gone, then 8 blocks next day gone on the 4th day half gone and the 5th day none gone. I then looked at the intrusions to find out it takes 3 to 7 days to work so it was the same rats storing it for first couple of days before the poison to effect.  There is no better way to kill rats than to feed poison on demand.

I live in an area where there are always rats skulking about. I use bait boxes placed about the place and I check them weekly for signs of activity. The worse time is the winter. The little sods like to find warm quarters for the winter. I agree with the Cowman, you might want to save money, but proper poisons work if you follow the instructions.

I've never found dogs or cats much good but ferrets are a differant matter. They are brilliant. Watch you don't loose one because it can create a lot of damage by killing anything they can get at.

poison the only way tried they stinking ferrets they great for rabbits and thats it mate spend a few pound and fix ur rats oot lol

tracking powder is the best results i have seen with large infestations of rats/mice

think you can get it from farm supplies (but not cheap)

had tracking powder last year great stuff but a have found u need to change what types u use or u start just feeding them

Everything you have describe is correct. I was simply looking at the easy approach, and not having to resort to the other means that you have described/elaborated on. What you have said will work, for the (individuals that will indulge). However, rats are not stupid. I might add that Im far from a mophead! All I was saying was, it worked for us, and perhaps it may for the individual. I have taking care of numerous creatures that want to create mayhem and indeed kill for no reason it would seem, other than being able to do so. Having killed the pigeons they don't want to eat them, it as if they are a easy kill and toy. I will not elaborate, but there are various methods which work. Poison to a degree will work, ferrets are nasty, be it smell, their cages again nasty, or indeed how ruthless they can be. However I was advised to get them around me and took that advice and it worked, so have no complaints!

The rats have cleared the plastic containers completely. On closer examination, the bait is wheat, dyed in a dark reddish conconction, Anybody know what it is?

i had a problem with rodents about 2 months ago and tried eradibait   i havnt seen one since :) apparently it works by dehydrating the rodents resulting in death  it certainly seems to have worked for me  also its not toxic to other animals/pets     debbie
