Guest Owen Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 If it is the hens. I suspect that it is a calcium deficiency. Make sure that you have grit and pick stones available. Buy some calcium tablets from the local Chemist and give them a 1/4 of a tablet each. You can also buy liquid calcium. If it is this, the cure works like magic. It is caused by a lack of calcium in the diet and the act of egg production further depletes the calcium available to the bird, leaving it a state of callapse. Some birds will suffer from egg binding and usually die. This condition is often seen in farm animals and even women can suffer from it. It is called eclamsia. (I am not sure of the spelling) Pigeons suffering from even a mild calcium deficiency are not likely to win races.
Guest Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 calcium (like osteocare) in the water and a pinch of curry powder with Cod liver oil in their corn
