BANDIT Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 HERE ARE MY 1ST ROUND YOUNG BIRDS WEANED TODAY
Merlin Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Very nice Bandit, strong and healthy, very nice batch, wish you well with them.
rasbull Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 very nice mate! the big dark cheq is a cracker. How do you find the width of the loft affects the birds? It seems very narrow. Do you think it improves them at all as when let out they may fly better and longer as they dont have the room really to fly about much in the loft. I know several people who have narrow lofts who's pigeons fly very well. Best of luck with the birds.
tskyes Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 uve got to much money mate if your using tobaco stalks for bedding ! just put some shavings down alot cheeper and cleaner mate.
Guest Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Look very well mate, are the reds and mealies all the same family?
Guest gladdo Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 why have you no colours ??????? he he they look very well and healthy !!!!!!! mikey... good luck with them if i see a white go over my roof ill think of you ,,,, ha ha !!!!!!!!!!!
BANDIT Posted March 6, 2009 Author Report Posted March 6, 2009 Hi RASBULL the loft is 22 x 4 divided in two and has 75 boxes . Yes it makes the birds very tame an d easy to catch. tykses I always use tobaco stalks on the floor as nothing will live in them, they cost a bit more but i think its worth it The 2 pieds in the box are nest matesoff my no1 pair of frans and jurgen de meyer pigeons, which i got direct a few years ago.they have bred me a couple of winners last year.THE 2 mealy p and the 2 bright reds are from my roland jansenns as are all the grizzles. thanks for all the nice remarks. bandit

Guest Owen Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Well, you have done your job. They look the part. A lovely buch of YBs. We could'nt get away with the reds and mealies here. The peregrines take them. It's a bit annoying for me because I would love to keep some dark reds and mealies. I would be interested to find out how you do with the Roland Jansenns. There are quite a few around here but I have never heard of them winning anything yet.
BANDIT Posted March 6, 2009 Author Report Posted March 6, 2009 OWEN I HAD 40 YOUNGSTERS OUT LAST SUMMER PERCY HIT THEM GUESS WHAT HE HIT OUT OF THE 40 A BLUE CHECK. I HAD 36 WHITE OR GRIZZLE PIGEONS AND 3 RED OR MEALYS AND HE HIT THE CHECK. WHEN PERCY MAKES ITS MIND UP DOESNT MATTER WHAT COLOUR THEY ARE, I WON A COUPLE OF RACES WITH THE ROLYS BUT THEY WERE CROSSED. BANDIT
