PIGEON_MAN Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Mark, This is what i use for my Sputnik traps mate, easy to build, Dougs Joinery done this one. Hope this gives you an idea. You,ve probably had no problems with yours Mark but these are a few things that I have also done to my sputnick to make sure no birds are missed,I have put bob wires at the back of the trap to stop other birds getting in the trap when the race birds are comming home, have also known birds to jump up out of the trap as well so this will also stop them on a raceday,if the piece that you put your pad in is wider than the pad block off some of the holes in the sputnick so that the birds drop in exactly on top of the board when the pad is,hope this may help.
cemetary Posted March 24, 2009 Author Report Posted March 24, 2009 Never had a problem with them jumping out mate, put the food in the trough, keep the insert closed when doing so, open it when you wont them in, then shut it, they wont jump back out then. Let me no how you get on.

PIGEON_MAN Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 thanks pigeon man...i love the idea of the blobs m8...cheers...mark.. You can leave them out during the week if you like so that the birds can sit in the trap and then fit them when racing or training, with no bobs in the sputnik have known birds to jump straight through into the loft and miss the floor of the sputnick and not be clocked.

Hope this gives you an idea. thats all well and good doing it that way but if your bird wins it dont count as the ETS must be in the loft NOT in the sputnik RPRA rules you should no that pigeonman as well being the club secatory

PIGEON_MAN Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 thats all well and good doing it that way but if your bird wins it dont count as the ETS must be in the loft NOT in the sputnik RPRA rules you should no that pigeonman as well being the club secatory Sorry mate but i,m correct the RPRP rule states that the anttennae(pad) of the ETS must be fitted within the confines of the loft or trapping systems and not underneath external landing boards, because the pad is actually inside the sputnick and not underneath it that makes it legal.
pjc Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 It does comply, when the bird enters the sputnik it is then within the confines of the loft. Once fitted to the front the sputnik forms part of the loft!
tskyes Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 UNTIL THE NEW RPRA RULES COME OUT NONE OF YOU CAN SAY WHAT IS LEGAL AND WHAT ISN`T !
Guest smudger1964 Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 it is in the loft so i cant see where you are coming from :-/ if your sputnik is on the door the ETS should be the other side of the door and same applieds for avairys on the front of your loft sputnik on one side of wire the ETS the other side
mark proctor Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Sorry mate but i,m correct the RPRP rule states that the anttennae(pad) of the ETS must be fitted within the confines of the loft or trapping systems and not underneath external landing boards, because the pad is actually inside the sputnick and not underneath it that makes it legal. he had me worried then..lol..i was thinking of a place to put my ets pad..was thinking underneath the drinker so the first thing they did is stand on it when haveing a drink...lol.. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
PIGEON_MAN Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 UNTIL THE NEW RPRA RULES COME OUT NONE OF YOU CAN SAY WHAT IS LEGAL AND WHAT ISN`T ! Sorry Tskyes but your talking rubbish the Rpra rule is straitforward enough to the people who want to understand it.
PIGEON_MAN Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 if your sputnik is on the door the ETS should be the other side of the door and same applieds for avairys on the front of your loft sputnik on one side of wire the ETS the other side AS long as the pad is inside the sputnick and not underneath it then its legal the way I explained.
Guest smudger1964 Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Sorry mate but i,m correct the RPRP rule states that the anttennae(pad) of the ETS must be fitted within the confines of the loft or trapping systems and not underneath external landing boards, because the pad is actually inside the sputnick and not underneath it that makes it legal. sorry mate but when you came to my loft i asked you if my ETS was ok there you said to me it must be in side your loft quote me if im wrong thats why i moved it in side the avairy side
tskyes Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Sorry Tskyes but your talking rubbish the Rpra rule is straitforward enough to the people who want to understand it. YOU MUST OF GOT THE RULES BEFORE ANYONE ELSE THEN COS THIS YEARS AREN`T OUT YET !
PIGEON_MAN Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 YOU MUST OF GOT THE RULES BEFORE ANYONE ELSE THEN COS THIS YEARS AREN`T OUT YET ! You must know something that I dont then because I wasnt aware that there was any new rules coming out concerning the pads, sorry for that we will have to comply with them then when we receive them.
tskyes Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 I SPOKE TO A YOUNG LADY THE OTHER DAY AT THE RPRA AS REGARDS TO ETS RULES AND IT WAS SHE THAT TOLD ME,SHE SAID THEY WOULD BE IN THE BHW SO LETS SEE
PIGEON_MAN Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 sorry mate but when you came to my loft i asked you if my ETS was ok there you said to me it must be in side your loft quote me if im wrong thats why i moved it in side the avairy side I,M sorry if I misled you at the time but as these guys say they are putting them is quite legal.
Guest smudger1964 Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 I,M sorry if I misled you at the time but as these guys say they are putting them is quite legal. thats ok tony not trying to put any one off that way of doing it but this is what i under stood the way it was in that case ill put it back in the sputnik or did i missunderstood you lol sorry mate
pjc Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 I don't recall seeing any propositions for the RPRA agm that would change the way the pads should be located. If i missed them then the results of the voting have also been published.
