pigeonman007 Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 1 of my prs has laid clear eggs, have been sitting 12days now. Should I let them sit their time out or take the eggs and bowl away for a bit etc?
Guest ljb107 Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 did they start sitting strait away?
Tony C Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 Take the eggs away now, no need to remove the bowl.
Guest IB Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 If they have been sitting 12 days, and they are clear, safe enough to take the eggs away now. Leave the bowl, but take any nesting material out of it; stops them sitting on nothing and encourages them to go back down again. An alternative is to slip another fertile egg from another pair laid around the same time under them (along with a pot egg) lets them to go through the full cycle.

andrew gooch Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 I would go for slipping a furtile egg under them it will be just as qwick as taking them away. if your next pair are again empty u have a problem with the cock or hen
just ask me Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 could be anyting really even as simple as cock gettin knocked off when threading that why u should lock in boxes while pairing

Wheat germ oil is supposed to be the thing but I had no success with this last year. If you have the money an injection from the vet is in the region of £20 £30.

peterpau Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 £20 £30 is a lot for me too. If it were mine I'd split and repair to differant partners, and would feel the bin may be calling a sterile cock.
