swilcox Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 This is quite an important weekend for my distance pigeons as i have entered 16 in the CSCFC St Nazaire race which is 300 miles, this will be there final stepping stone to Tarbes. Having checked the forecast there are upto 28 miles an hour east winds in the Channel and being that St Nazaire is already way to the right of France it spells a disatstor to me. What do you think, do i hold the main of them and yearlings to the National from St Nazaire next week. Stuart

Stuartthis is the truest saying in pigeon racing (if in doubt keep them out) .good luck whatever you decide ,this as you have said could either make or break your season.
swilcox Posted May 27, 2009 Author Report Posted May 27, 2009 Decided to enter the older birds and leave the yearlings home, that way it will only knock me back 1 year if all goes titso and not 2 years. Stuart

Guest Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 we raced that race point i think it was 2/3 years ago with the same wind conditions yes there were birds got home in good race time but lots wrer reported in wales/ireland that was the lucky ones
paul k Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 Weve looked at the strong East winds and come to the same conclusion Stuart, living here in Reading and flying in the classic is hard enough, without that sort of wind against them so have decided to give it a miss, and will keep them home for the NFC next week.
