retired Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 Jimmy its funny this has come up tonight as when i was at the gym earlier i flicked through one of the monthly body building magazines and stared in astonishment as every second page was a full page spread with the new wonder product that can make you built like the incredible hulk and also those that can lose all the access weight in 12 minutes etc etc etc. The only thing consisitent with all these products was the excellent marketing deployed, the high cost and the fact that everyone was the best on the market. In the case i am talking about i think these are for the people who dont want to put the work in.

Babybird Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 what supplements if any would non racing pigeons require?
ch pied Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 what supplements if any would non racing pigeons require? 1 day in the week squeeze half a grapefriut into a 5pt drinker , or a spoon of honey , or crush a clove of garlic , add any to the drinking water , a salt lick/ minerial block for horse's it looks like a brick , place 1 in the loft , if the bird's need it they will be at it , if they don't they will leave it alone , it help's to wet it down in hot weather , other than that , you can go and buy all the fancy pill's & potions that will give the bird's no more benifit , KEEP IT SIMPEL , you wont go far wrong

greenlands Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 I've used just about everything over the years and come to the conclusion what a waste of good money.Resorted to Epsom salts, Carb Soda,Iodine,Cider Vinegar,Garlic,Ground Nut Oil and Glucose, that's about your lot.Just worked round them and saved a bomb.Must admit the young birds even though late have kept their health.Fingers crossed on that one.I do however have the usual treatments in the coupboard just incase.Lindsay ps.Gary Spavins, bitter stimulant powder.
