Roland Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 What a wasste of money! http://news.scotsman.com/breaking-edinburgh-news/Birds-of-Prey-drafted-in.5425298.jp I could clear them all humanly for £1000. But is as one must see, a very public conscious awareness stragety..
pigeonpete Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 Absolute ludicrous! that all i have to say on the subject. But some of the responces on there roland are spot on :-) :-)
pjc Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 they done exactly the same in Oxford, just kept moving the ferals from place to place!
pjc Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 maybe fanciers in towns or areas with problems should offer to clear the ferals which would in turn help there own reputation.
pigeonpete Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 maybe fanciers in towns or areas with problems should offer to clear the ferals which would in turn help there own reputation. i used to clear all the rung strays from the towns and let the owners where they are, havent got time anymore :-) did get mixed responces, i did find a 97 rung bird in 2003 before i started keeping pigeons. and reported through r.p.r.a and the guy from midlands called such? he had lost from yb race. And he wanted it backdont know why :-)
pjc Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 i know it takes time, but there are a lot of members who don't work or it could be done out of season. Only problem is the do gooders who cause the problem by feeding them!
Roland Posted July 21, 2009 Author Report Posted July 21, 2009 Have advocated this in three clubs. Said that it could have only good results. Cages to be left out of site on roofs etc. Haven't been able to find a single person interested. Said best to have on a rotary basis. Two evenings on every month. Would soon have cleared them....
THE FIFER Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 If each town or city, put up a place for the streeters to live in it would be easy then to controll them, bu taking away eggs etc, just like they had in most farms going back large pigeon towers etc,
sammy Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 just another form of BLOOD sport s and they banned hunting with dogs ,dont be surprised ni the not to distant future that when these guys catch pigeons with rings its going to cost us plenty to get them back plus cleaning bills
Guest IB Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 A community loft would go a long way to controlling breeding & reducing numbers over time.
