0pensaysme Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 I don't have a shop near me so i have to travel 20 miles to get my supplies. I've found a internet shop that sells tobacco stalks £2.06 for 2kg, but a delivery charge of £7. I want to know if I order more than needed for this year, will the tobacco stalks be good for next year? My second question is how much do you need per pair, 1kg?

Guest TIMBARRA LOFTS Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 I find they keep well, but have known them to get some mould and this will depend how stored, they must remain dry so you can just snap them, this is ideal storing condition they should be in, when it comes to using them, remove to outside overnight so the air can get to them, this way they become softer and plyable to build nests with. hope this helps. spencer
blaz Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 fresh is best if stored even a little bit of mould picked up by bird then bird not well goes for a drink and then passes it on to others .then all birds not well at start of breeding season give me the 40 mile round trip any day or the delivery charge . this is just my opinion

Remember the aberdonians inveted copper wire when two of them were fighting over a penny. Thing is i lived there for 15 years and both of my children were born there, I should maybe be sticking up for them ;D Paul.
