Roland Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 Unhulled is even better having about 79% Carbs to Polished 64% Very little protein of course. Brown, well I never bothered about which...
Peckedhen Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 The birds like routine, try to feed around the same time each day.
Guest IB Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 how about brown rice? Asked much the same in another thread, as I feed it. I thought it was white rice with its 'vitamin & mineral jacket' left on. This is taken from the web:- When rice is harvested, it must be processed before being sent to market. In the case of both white and brown rice, the inedible outer hull of the rice is removed so that the grain of the rice is accessible. To make white rice, the individual grains are further stripped: the bran and germ are also removed, and the grains are polished to be white and smooth. Brown rice, however, is left with these outer layers intact, and since the bulk of the nutrition is available in these layers, brown rice is better.
TonyW Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 I thought that Barley was only grain to contain all 8 essential amino acids read it in feed to win heres a little tip i learnt myself when weaning youngsters keep a watch on thier eyes if any youngsters eyes start looking like thier squinting or eyes not fully open it is a sign of dehydration normally due to not drinking a quick dunk of the beak in water is needed
