better to get books realy mazagines are only good to follow results for buying birds from good flyers ;)

you could get hold of old raceing pigeon mags lots good stuff in them the gazzete

i agree with Mark, books will be more useful or try and get some old pictorials which will give you more interesting articles.

i bet if u read though some threads here u will find a lot  ;)

 

easier for a beginner to piece together a book jmo  ;) but there is alot of good stuff on this site and a wide spectrum of choices and differences of opinion ;)

OK.. what books do u recommend?

 

see thread above adamant ,, some of the mags are more adverts than anything else,, tony c reccomended julios galles [spelt wrong :)] but they are a great series of books for bigginner and old hand alike :) also maybe poss to get some dvd,s from forum members, good luck :)

when i restarted last year i bought a load of old racing pigeon pictorials off of ebay.....they were fairly cheap and give some great reading...... :)

I would get some DVDs. But it is best to borrow them from a friend who will tell you which are the best. A lot of DVDs are boring and you need a finger on the fast forward button. The advantage is that you can see things that you will not see in books and mags. You know, the little things. But, at the end of the day, the best way is hands on. If you can find an experienced person to answer your questions for you, as you go along, you will be on the fast track.

Pigeons for everyone by Douglas McClary is one of my favourite books,it covers the basic principles of both racing and showing without getting too complicated,abit of everything.
