Craig05 Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 teaspoon bicarb, table spoon epsom salts, table spoon brown sugar and teaspoon table salt to 2 litres of water. dont forget to duck when you go back into the loft because this really does clean them out ;D ;D ;D
Roland Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 Best to use a little linseed at least before their main feed once or twice a week. HAS great other benefits too, and is a really good balance seed. Keeps the feathering in tact too. Be extra careful though with Epsom Salts!
Guest strapper Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 if given salts it will make them have the runs severly and you will need to have a good clean out at the end of it.
ch pied Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 if your'e determined to give epsom or gluabber salts to the bird's , why not try them on yourself first , it will give you a new outlook on the practice & you might think twice,,,,,,lol
rooster Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda is great for yourself after a good heavy session on the wine , ;D
ch pied Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda is great for yourself after a good heavy session on the wine , ;Dnaw mucker , i stick to the liffy water for a real clean out,,,,,lol
ch pied Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 cleaning the bird's out , epsom's or glaubber salt's will only dehydrate them , that is the last thing you want , if i think the bird's need this so called cleaning out , i give a light feed , with hold the fluid for half a hour , add 2ltr's of simi-skimmed milk & 1ltr water to a 3 ltr drinker , have a mop and bucket handy you will need it
soontjen21 Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 hello m8 just wondered why do you think they need them ?
Mixxy Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 one of the best reasons to use them and not mentioned yet is to force a rest period at the start of the week, especially if on the seperated sex systems.give it then no exercise untill tuesday and birds will be well rested.glucose is a must in the water with and after you give them.
