but only if your part of a government body ip adress which is what your talking about stands for internet provider not for p.cs unique code if police government get your ip[internet provider] address they can then go to your i.p internet provider and then trace you via all details you as a mod or admin cannot get this number or code etc so i am sorry pete but quite true

you are technically right pete but as you have said it can be changed which your pcs own fingerprint cant but to have access to these superior codes shall we call them you would probably need a letter off the queen lol and a warrant ...y.i.s pete

i think guests should have a restricted access to the boards with certain boards for members only so to see them you would need to join, i also think that if as a member i wish my name not to be seen as online [i know this is a touchy subject but there may be a valid reason] it should say private member and mods/admin can if required see username to make sure nowt underhand is going on ...j.m.h.o .....pete

Does it make any difference whether they join. I no some fanciers who come on as geusts to check on libs returns and open and national updates.

 

They have no intentions of posting they are only looking at information. its free so why deny them to look . :-/ :-/

Your getting a bit controversial these days Paul?   :-/       I for one stay invisible because I want to and not because I have anything to hide, I know many others who choose to stay invisible as well, its fun catching people out posting about you when they think your backs turned only to suddenly find you reply.   ;D ;D ;D  That's the good thing about this forum, it allows for a freedom of choice, it doesn't force you to sign up to read posts, but in all fairness if you want to reply then you should sign up, it doesn't force you to do anything except follow the rules and its usually only the cynical or troublemakers who suggest being invisible means that those of us who choose to remain so have anything to hide.  

 

For the record mate I don't think your a troublemaker but do think on this occassion perhaps your judging people a bit unfairly for their choice to be invisible.   :-/

im not judging anyone ...far from it and far from being a trouble maker as you said.

but i dont think there is anything wrong in what i said,i didnt say members not to be able to be guests(invisible)..i said guest users as in non memebers

i think as someone said in my opinion and its only mine it would be a good idea as in another site ,where you have to log in to view. :)

hi i dont see how (if they did) change this option,on how it would affect you as a member?..it wouldnt obstruct you in anyway unless you wanted to remain invisible,but im not saying stop members becoming invisible....please read it again...non members remaining as guests...i cant see why if your using the site as a non member and as a guest why you shouldnt join?

after all you must like the site if you calling in on a regular basis.

i think guest status is very important it acts as a trial/showcase for the site. i visited for quite a while until i plucked up courage to join. in the end i wanted to see the photos and members areas. i used to view pigeon chat as a guest ...but now i don't bother and don't miss it. i very much think it would be a retrograde step to do away with guest status.

No mate time for me to leave the site , its people like you with your ignorant attitudes that put people off.  jumping to conclusions and dictating.   NEVER MENTIONED ANYTHING ABOUT YOU LEAVING THE SITE.   But if you got your way and banned geust users who may be thinking of joining i would not want to be on with people like you.
