Guest strapper Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 well i got up this morning with anticipation of my 1st race ,looked out the window lovely day not a cloud in the sky ..thought great...got up went out the garden...only to find next door neighbour a club m8 who hadnt sent...has only 9-10 birds still out on his house roof! > this isnt the 1st time this has happened ..because it was his step daughter last year that stopped me taking possibly 1st 3 in the fed!...with her banging on the fence and shouting at the dog as the birds arrived together. then this year she did it again in o/birds. so now im pretty p/off considering my neighbour isnt racing this year. there will be words later!!!
Guest strapper Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 just went back out ..just noticed a further 6 on the loft roof too.
pjc Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 he must have left the loft open! next time you send get up before its light and go and shut his loft up.
Guest mick bowler Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 I was going to send to my first race but west gale force winds here.............AGAIN!
Guest strapper Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 he must have left the loft open! next time you send get up before its light and go and shut his loft up. hi phil...nah he leaves them out over night..too flipping lazy to walk 4-5yrds to call them in and shut the door up on them. ive just been out the back garden slamming ...well noisely closing my loft doors...and now it looks like he,s got up and only 2 birds out....his loft door is open. thing is phil we discussed the race yesterday after he came home from work and he said give him a shout to watch my birds come home. nevermind..he,ll want me to fetch him corn this week when i go get some....guess what ...ill have no room to get any for him!
kevgrind Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 Hi strapper that just is`nt on especially if he knew you were raceing, i`d do my nut , go round there when we know the birds are up and ask nicely at first it may have been a mistake let`s hope so, best of luck.
pjc Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 i've got a neighbour does the same, to lazy to go and shut the traps at night so birds come out at first light. but all the birds will be in the loft to roost overnight so by shutting it 1st thing they won't come out!
Guest strapper Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 hi kev m8...he,s always leaving them out...even told him about it recently , because they were out when i was letting mine out in the morning...only good thing is , mine wouldnt drop to them when exercising. he hasnt flown for 3 years but still pays his club fees. breeds ybs but never trains or races them. had one of his youngbirds over yesterday...it was that full of lice it could have been a red grizzle. went on holiday last year they did...me and my m8 noticed that no one was feeding or watering them...so my m8 jumped over and poured water through the battens on the window of the loft...and threw corn in too....the door was locked.
kevgrind Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 Thats pure cruelty this guy has no rights in keeping pigeons or any kind of animal by the sounds of it,he needs to be put straight on a few things try to get the backing off the club because you dont need a nightmare neighbour it can make your racing life hell , best of luck. :-/

blaz Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 he is in tow with an other member in your club to give you a bad trap.
Guest Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 So you've sent your birds and this guy knowing your birds are going to come in is putting obsicles in the way? Your the sec of your club if I remember rightly? Why don't you look at putting him before your club for ungentlemanly conduct?
pjc Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 you can't force anybody to confine there birds you can only ask them!
pjc Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 motivated birds shouldn't take any notice of a few others out on the roof.
Guest strapper Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 birds home trapped exellent ..even though he had a few out on his loft roof....still a few birds away.
jimmy white Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 well done strapper, its always a worry when this happens, but usually the birds trap well, good luck, hope your" well in"
Guest Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 Dont diasgree that the guy is out of order - We had a similar situation every single week at the old address and in the end the birds didnt bat an eye lid. I cannot see though how a member can be taken up for ungentlemanly conduct for something in which he does on his own property. He probably can't Chris, I was just trying to help Paul with some ideas, what this guy is doing is clearly not sportsman like and he probably knows that there is a race on? No doubting the fact he can't be stopped from letting his birds out but if he's doing it with a deliberate view to dispruption that's a bad club-mate and one that needs to be brought to book somehow.
Guest Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 birds home trapped exellent ..even though he had a few out on his loft roof....still a few birds away. That's one in the eye for the neighbour then Paul, good on you, hope you come in top five places to make the result even better.
THE FIFER Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 surely this is a matter for your club to deal with, :-/
just ask me Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 as far as i know there is no actual rule in any organisation against this i know had too look into it myself its up to the club to call him in on it
Guest strapper Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 had words earlier...peacefully,he said his appolgies and will be more alert around race days from now on. he said he had lost what day it was ...i took it in a peacefull manner and decided to leave it go this time.
kev01293 Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 hi strapper it must be a nightmare living next to somebody like that,i know how you feel cos ive got a neighbour who never seems to go in his garden but the minute my birds land on my loft hes out there banging and clattering about in his shed knowing full well that it spooks em > as for your neighbour going on his hols without leaving food and water for his birds-well thats just plain cruel and i wouldnt have thought twice about reporting him and would have told him that as well the fact they are covered in lice probabley means he doesnt treat his birds for anything either glad to hear u timed in without ant problems though do u know why he stopped racing?

JADE Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 you cant stop him being lazy but i think if he goes on holiday and makes no arrangements to feed/water birds you should report him to rspca. a couple of days you could leave enough food and water to keep them going but i doubt for much longer
