paul10121968 Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 i accidently released two of my stock birds.they somehow got out of their section and into the corridoor.when i entered the loft i was not aware that they were there and they went out over my head.they are two red cheq hens, one is not rung except for a red plastic ring and the other is wearing a red whu2007 ring.i have been back to were i got them from but they have not turned up there yet.these birds have never been out around the area where i live so they could turn up anywhere.please keep an eye out for them.unfortunately they are not wingstamped.
jimmy white Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 sorry to hear of that paul,, but who knows, they might just return,, ive done this myself b4 ,, and had them turn up about the third day,, so theres always hope,,, good luck anyway, hope you get them back

Have you got race birds you could let out that may attract them back, especially if they are sitting about locally.

Guest rodders Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 i agree with jimmy i have had stock that was bought in as ybs never flown out got out when partner didnt push bolt all the way home and have returned days later they seem to go like hell disapear then seem to realise and work their way back if your lucky
Guest IB Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 Would expect them to turn up, maybe tomorrow?
paul10121968 Posted October 25, 2009 Author Report Posted October 25, 2009 the two stock birds of mine that got out are now sat on the roof at their old home.as the loft is no longer there it is proving a pain to try and trap them.i have hopes that hunger will soon bring them back in with my birds.this will be the third day they have been out,so i have a feeling that they may be getting food scraps from somewhere.

Guest bakes Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 would thought they come back in mate like said before hunger will make them come down in the end all the best.
Guest IB Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 If you have access to their old place, you can set up a trap, a basic cage with a small entrance at one end, and one or two grains leading into it, and to the food at far end from the entrance.
pjc Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 take a basket of your birds and let go at there old home, they may join them and follow them home!
