The delighted seller, Jean-Luc van Roy from Ronse in southwest Belgium, said in an interview that he had been besieged with offers from Dutch and Belgian middlemen after Playboy won this year's 620-mile Barcelona race, a high point in Europe's pigeon racing calendar.
