Guest strapper Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 there is one way...keeping it hungry for the 1st weeks of liberating around your loft. when it goes back in feed it up.
Guest frank dooman Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 Just keep sending it and make sure it's keen i done it 3 years ago i dont think there is a hard and fast ans. just keep sending but dont expect to get a decent raceing season with them some learn quicker than others and it is not allways the older birds that cause the probs. after 3/4 races i realiszed i had to put that season down to experence they sometimes make it ok the following year

yorkie Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 cocks usually easier than hens, once they breed at your loft they usually give up going back eventually
blaz Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 had some good results this year with birds i broke in .in January february one of the older hens got 3 or4 2nd always coming back from old loft. i hope she will be better next year as 1 or 2 of the results she is only beat by a min or 2 . as for the yearlings the penny dropped with them when they got out over 300 mile no messing about out the sky and on to the loft .one or 2 in good time as well . i don,t see them flying toward their old loft now .like they where doing most days when out flying in the season. i think and have also been told that you will get better results from broken birds the following season .
