Guest ROCKYandRAMBO Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 depends what you want your youngsters to do if you want to win i would say darkness if you just want to get them into a few races and gently school them id say natural . im not bothered about young bird races so i just use natural

aaron21 Posted January 5, 2010 Author Report Posted January 5, 2010 whats best times to close and open
ritchie1 Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 i open them up to light at 8.30 and close them in darkness at 4.30 works a treat mate
dwh Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 i open them up to light at 8.30 and close them in darkness at 4.30 works a treat mate 8-4 for us but just the same period of darkness
Guest strapper Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 can we give him some info in more detail....you can win on natural!..but to win further on in the season darkness is the one to be on! i dont race darkness but with natural youngbirds ,they fall apart(feather) 2nd half of the season.
adam owen Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 as you are just starting i would say do half darkness half natrual nurse the natruals keep them for old birds and try the dark with a few as a bit of fun and a learning curve for future years this way if u dnt get dark ryt u got an old bird team ready if it works for you u got best of both worlds theres plenty of people and books dvds on it so u shud be fine
Guest youngboy Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 never tried the darkness but im aware off its bonuses!! but if you want to fly full program with ybs do the darkness!! but unfort i cant practice the darkness as i cant with my loft!! but im not really worries as i only like to race my ybs to a certain distance anyway!
aaron21 Posted January 5, 2010 Author Report Posted January 5, 2010 been thinking (that hert lol) going put some on darkness and put some natural

kirky Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 darkness birds need 8 hours day light, 8-4 9-5 you can chose what suits you as long as its 8 hours day light.

Guest frank dooman Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 how do you find the yearling race after being on the dark? that is the biggest myth about the darkness they are 100% as long as you get them through the moult
