jimmy white Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 do any members let their birds out in the snow and how do they react. yes they love it :)they eat it ,,, natural minerals in snow ,,, also , if in a closed in area,, birds landing on house roof etc,, clean top of the loft ,, and landing board ,,,, after theve got over the shock ;D and no where to land,, all will land on loft and board ;D ;D encouraged with a little grain
bird man of meath Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 let out just before snow fall hen's were flying for about 2 hours not sure if they could see where loft was or were just enjoying the snow did not seem to mind pottering around garden in it
bullcock Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 my birds have been in all winter but we started letting them out just before the snow came, they were sitting about the roofs so we havent put them out in the snow incase they spend the night out. other doo men around me who have let there birds out all winter are still letting them out ok.
Guest redlad24 Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 rangers and hoops fans getting on thats a first

DOVEScot Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Out everyday and all day and they just love it, our stock racing birds have access to and aviary 24/7 365 of the year and some choose to spend the night in it rather than the loft Our dovecote birds are still breeding and rearing although glad to say they are not as prolific and we have some don't make it due to the elements of nature
Guest ROCKYandRAMBO Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 mine are out most days except when its really windy . with the snow it took them a little bit of time to get use but like you say they love it now trying to bath in it ect and they do look gd lol
VAGIN Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 If you dont let your birds out in this cold weather, then you are not feeding BOP Who must suffering. No big fat racing pigeonstoo eat and no water too drink as its frozen ( O dear so sad ) :X
billt Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 I think Bop's are having a good time, their food isn't buried under the snow
