Shortcut Lofts Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 Hi Mav, I have a pair of White Delbars and the birds of them have done fine, have them up to 200 miles so far no problem. SL
pigeonman007 Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 Hi, Do white delbars have the normal pigeon eye or are they bullseye like the logans?
Guest bigbok Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 they all should be bulleyed white as it is Zwh recessive this eye colour is very common in the fancy if you come across whites with pearl eyed they are usually either ashred ground colour or a different types of grizzle the main thing to remember is white is not a colour and usually made up off one of the thre colour groups and a combination of pied markings but i do like them with the black eyes they stand out
pigeonman007 Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 Hi bigbok, Interesting reading. A friend of mine has white commines from the natural breeding station, they all have the normal pigeon eye, but they do quite often produce birds with the odd dark feather. He also has delbars and these have the bulleye, and more often than not produce pure whites

Guest Mav Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 Hi all, Just got back from looking at the White Delbars, Wasted journey i am afraid, from start to finish. Birds to me, (my opinion only) looked poor, Some did not want to get of the floor. If i was getting married and was asked if i wanted to release them by hand i would have said no, Keep them in the basket. I am new to pigeons and there may be a reason for them looking so manky. Very disappointed in the person who i met and he really seemed as if i was to much trouble being there, Sorry if your having a bad day and got in your way. Would have thought they would have been grateful of 200 quid of anyone's money in this time of recession. Very large amount of birds and loads of sheds / flights, Yes it was raining heavy too but i was the customer. So back to square one and i still have no birds, So if anyone has White Delbars, Logans or Busschaerts or knows of any, i am still looking. Thanks, Mav.

Did reply to your PM Mav but only just as was working last night and up until an hour ago. I obviously suggested one man to you who i know you have spoken with, maybe whiteknight also if he has any about - his other birds are corkers so cant imagine his white delbars etc being any different.
Guest Mav Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 Thanks vallance lofts for replying to my pm, Good advice and very grateful for the detailed reply to my questions. Don't know what was the matter with him, I really felt as if he did not want me there, I walked away in the end. Did not even get to the shop for all the other things i wanted, Wife even got a paper to read as she thought i would be an hour looking around. Never mind, I will just have to wait until something comes along in March time or someone comes up with some stock birds. Thanks again for evyones help. Mav.
Guest joshdonlan Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 Have you tried PeckedHen, or Dovescot, they have some lovely whites. Also Babybird
Guest Mav Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 Hello Joshdonlan, I have not been in touch asking if they have any spare birds but they will have seen my post i hope. Hoping someone may have some in there loft that they would like to sell and will let me know a price.
Guest Mav Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Thanks Tractorboy for your message. I am very keen to get some birds into my new loft, (Not much fun keeping imaginary birds ), But only if they look good. Dont know how old the birds were that i looked at yesterday, but i have been told since that the eye cere gets larger the older the bird, it was very big and they did not look good. They may have been OK for stock birds to breed from.
pigeonman007 Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Hi Mav I am also looking for a couple of whites and if like me you come across the advert below please deal with caution if at all http://www.trade-it.co.uk/category/birds-pidgeons/region/w-uk-bristol-south-west-avon-bristol/PureWhiteRacingpigeonslogansquality-7255009.html I asked the seller 2 simple questions via email: 1 are the birds RPRA rung & 2 is is possible to see pictures of the pigeons. I know there are pictures attached to the sale but I do not believe they belong to the seller. Anyhow, the response I got to my questions was "SORI,I HAVNT GOT TIME TO WASTE" Speaks for itself really.

I would recomend you contact her. Other than that I've just put mine together, and may have some in about 8 weeks. Buscheaart x Delbar mostly with a little Logan. You'd be welcome to visit any time and pick your own.
Guest Mav Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 Hello Peterpau, Thanks for your reply, Sounds good. If you could pm me were abouts you are and what price they would be then i might just pop over in a few weeks nearer the time. Thanks again.
