Guest cosmic dave Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Ok todays first question is plastic newcastle perch, any good ? I like the hygene idea of them, :-/
pigeonpete Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Good for keeping clean, better than wood anyday, But they used to be a bit flimsy, And a bit colder for the birds. Personal preference really :-)
Guest bakes Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 ive got them but prefure the wooden uns mate they are cheap think i paid 80 pence a perch when i bought a loud of the newcastle perch's all the best
OLDYELLOW Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 prefer the plastic ones they dont absorb moisture so get less bad bug build up on them
Guest Jargre- Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Ok todays first question is plastic newcastle perch, any good ? I like the hygene idea of them, :-/As dangerous as hell in my opinion, bought a sack load of them to be lazy because they do clean fairly easy but they got sharp corners on them and the birds were damaging their flights when flying into them, took every one of them off and am selling them 60 pence each if anyone wants them, most like them so don't take my word for it, that's just how I see it.
Guest bakes Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 these are the newcastle perch's ive got bought a stack load in july last year easy to keep clean quick wipe i use a wet cloth with some vykill on jobs a gud un back clean as if you just bought them but be carful you dont smack your swede on them done it over month drawed blood the edges are sharpe all the best.
showman Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Have used these plastic ones before.......the only thing I did before fitting was to smooth off the corners with a file......bit of work, but well worth it !! Another thing I did was to buy myself double the quantity I needed. When cleaning the loft, I simply removed the dirty perch and replaced it with a clean one. I then had the time to clean the soiled perches and allow them to air-dry for next time. Bit more expense I know, but made cleaning out a lot easier for me !!
Guest joshdonlan Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 I have been using these for the past 2 years. I have 2 sets and whilst using 1 set, soak the others in bleach then scrub them clean. They come up as good as new.
