alec guinness Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 reading this weeks homing world and saw that reg venner of street had passed away at 95 years young,reg and myrtle venner was one of the very first articles i read in the gazette and actually got me and my dad hooked on the classic racing, these fanciers along with newcombe bros macmerry,fear bros bath,jock allan symington and john bosworth of elphinstone were heroes of the pigeon game for me and dad in the 70s and feel proud that we have met some of these fanciers. :) memories.

Bugsy Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 Alec Just been looking through the pigeon books for sale on Ebay and there is a pictorial for sale from 1975 and one of the write ups is on R & M Venner of street, this edition and another one from 1975 are on sale with a starting bid of £1.50 or you can buy them for £2.00. swilcox Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Secound to Fear Brothers of Clandown ;D ;D ;D I do know the Fears well as im a clandown boy by birth, i have there original pedigree book and my friend Andy Tarmass has there original breeding books, amazing just how many pigeons they timed from Barcelona, Pau, Marseille, Dax etc. All joking aside they were all excellent fanciers and all worthy of the title champion.

Stuart lovely family,had youngsters from them and flew well into the west of scotland,classic pau winners,"maddy" "katie allys" and "amelia" 1st section pau national and 1st open woesrc elgin the previous year. :) :)great memories. :) :)
