Mealy Cock Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 This just about sums up the Rspca. Their mentality has no boundaries http://newslite.tv/2008/12/11/rspca-officers-tried-to-rescue.html
Guest Tooshy Boy Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 THAT JUST SHOWS YOU THEY DONT NO WHAT THERE DOING AND HOW MUCH WILL THAT COST THE PUBLIC
Guest mick bowler Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 Whats wrong with RSPCA?? I think they do a great job! (nothing to do with RSPB!)
Guest HEATHLOFTS Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 Whats wrong with RSPCA?? I think they do a great job! (nothing to do with RSPB!) true but the rspb :-/
Roland Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 Whats wrong with RSPCA?? I think they do a great job! (nothing to do with RSPB!) True, just a smaller version, and absolutely useless and over cater for the Whims of the Farmers, and take from the public. Only time you see them is when a cruelty case is in the media, and then they rush out with their tins....
Guest mick bowler Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 True, just a smaller version, and absolutely useless and over cater for the Whims of the Farmers, and take from the public. Only time you see them is when a cruelty case is in the media, and then they rush out with their tins.... So what do you want them to do then? There have always responded when we needed them and found them very helpful. We even had an escaped (and very scared) dog once, an RSPCA man tracked him down and actually got bitten for his troubles, and could of insisted on having him put down, but was very good and was just worried more about the dogs welfare than his own.
Novice Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 I had a mail last night telling me that the RSPCA had visited a fancier in Southern England telling him that he had too many birds. The Officer tried to tell him they should be cleaned and disinfected daily and asked how he disposed of his unwanted pigeons. The officer insisted on seeing the birds and was told to go away and come back with the Police. The fancier in question is on the RPRA council and told the officer this and that he would tell the queen that she was keeping her birds incorrectly according to the to the RSPCA. He suggested that she might see fit to withdraw the Royal status from the RSPCA. The officer had no idea that the queen had pigeons and has not been seen since. It is clear that these people meddle in areas where they are completely ignorant. We should always be prepared for these people should they appear on our doorstep.
Mealy Cock Posted March 17, 2010 Author Report Posted March 17, 2010 Whats wrong with RSPCA?? I think they do a great job! (nothing to do with RSPB!) Nothing wrong with the RSPCA, I was using it as a like to the RSPB. Or if you like, I found it rather amusing
stantheman Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 RSPCA visited a local loft last week and told him he was keeping too many in his loft apparently a neighbour has complained, mind you they had to agree with the fancier concerned the birds were being looked after well ps he aint getting rid of any the inspectors revisiting him next tuesday and there will be less birds in loft ;)
Mealy Cock Posted March 17, 2010 Author Report Posted March 17, 2010 That’s interesting, what constitutes a lot pigeons in your loft?
Guest mick bowler Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 Well they also visited a loft in Oxford (who pjc would know too), someone near where i lived, whos birds were a disgrace and a loft that had never seen a scraper. They found nearly 200 birds i think it was in lofts only 20 ft long, and some dead carcasses in the piles of droppings as well as many unrung birds. He was forced, rightly in my opinion, to reduce the numbers or get rid of the lot. I had his birds come into my lofts and they were like streeters most of them, some rung some not. So for maybe every one they get wrong there is one they get right!
Bluedoo Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 Whats wrong with RSPCA?? I think they do a great job! (nothing to do with RSPB!) No looks like an eagle owl, rspb would probably have had it shot.
pjc Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 I think bt should be congratulated and asked to put a lot more up! Yes Mick, there are some valid cases. There are also cases where fanciers become ill and struggle to feed and care for the birds as they wish, in these cases where are the local fanciers to give them a hand! Mick you will know who i mean when I say Eddie V, recently lost his wife who has been ill for some time so birds havn't been raced and have become a chore. Now his wife has sadly gone a local fancier is helping him reduce the birds down to a manageable number to give him something to keep him occupied without getting bogged down cleaning, feeding etc.
Guest challengerlofts Posted March 21, 2010 Report Posted March 21, 2010 Watta a waste of time for the Firemen. I think this RSCPA should be have a training session how to use Binoculars. What an earth why they don't have one. They can buy easily in here http://www.binoculars-uk.co.uk/acatalog/binoculars.html
