the pot ones are the best as there  heavier and some of my birds in the past have been sly and laid whilst plastic eggs are still in the nest so worth paying that little bit more and get the pot ones

to mimmic a chipping egg get some mexican jumping beans from joke shop and place them in plastic ones

Or a worm with a bit of damp moss,I also put sand in the plastic eggs to give them a bit of weight.
