greenlands Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 Picked this up on another site. Allegedley Boddy & ridewood have a "To Let" sign up on their premises. There are a few replies confirming same. Lindsay
Guest IB Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 Didn't B&R explain this on here a week or so ago? Can't remember details but planned to lease part of a Site while extending warehouse elsewhere?
Guest Owen Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 I am sorry to learn of this. But it is probably self inflicted. And it could be another sign of the Sport dying slowly. If that is the case, it will Studs going out of business next
OLDYELLOW Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 Boddy and Ridewood are letting part of there site as a very big site , site used to be Bass North Distribution centre , its buisness as usual , they are concidering moving the pigeon side into new premises to give it more room on the new Buisness park which is not far away if they get a buyer all of which they told me by pm
OLDYELLOW Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 reply from Christine at Boddy and ride wood explaining Re-location: You've seen a sign outside our premises which originally referred to a sub-let on the site (lorry park) We have a 4 acre complex and not all of it is used by us although we own the entire facility. We infact are considering moving to a property that will be 100% pigeon equipment (separate from our sister company, EverythingForPets.com). Depends if we can find a tenant for all or part of our present site. If we move it may be only a few yards to the new business park. Is Their Going To Be A Shop? Yes, of course We hold £100,000s of pigeon equipment IN STOCK. If you don't believe us please visit and ask to see our warehouse. Service? We try our best and are continually reviewing our procedures.

Guest Mav Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 I have used B&R and always had good service, Dont mean to be rude Fifer, But maybe you have had a good service because you part own this site (I believe), You have the delete button.
Guest Owen Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 I know that Christine looks at this Forum because she wrote to me after a put a comment on here. So this is for her benefit. I have dealt with B&R in the past and have been very happy with the service although the telephone manner of some of the Staff has always been suspect. In recent times the service has been very bad because of the lack of honesty of B&R when they take orders without having checked to see if the order can be filled. If the Customer was given the information as to how long they would have to wait and allowed to make the decision as to whether to continue with the business, no-one would have reason to complain. In addition to that, the Staff need to receive training in the way they should treat the Customers. This applies as much to the Managers as the more junior Staff. They need to know that a mail order business stands or falls by the treatment that Customers get. Contrasting the behaviour of the B&R staff with the way that Taylors treat their Customers should form a guide as to how things should be done. I understand that many people think that it is part of the North of England manner to be blunt, but I think that most people do not find it charming. Just rude and bad mannered.

gulkie Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 sorry but i agree with fifer i have dealt with them for many years ,even up untill last week with not a lot of problems, ok so they do make mistakes but what company dont
Guest IB Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 No offence, but B&R go back to when I was a teenager in 1960's when I remember they took small adverts in BHW. If they go under (which I doubt) I believe it would be the equivalent of our former 'National' pigeon courier folding. Yes it was replaced by many smaller organisations, but none cover the former's complete service or price.
OLDYELLOW Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 been going to there shop since was 14 lol just a few short years ago lmao ;D ;D ;D ;D
