Roland Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 Orders taken for Eurasian Eagle Owls. Tel: 07876 632912 (Cumbria) (28062660) A trip of a thousand miles takes just one step to start it!!! we can go on forever about hawks and peregrins but i dont think anything will change as these preditors are every where now,and they are growing and growing, its about time the rspb and the government got there fingers out from under there a---s and got something done because until they do we are going to lose members hands over fist, but what else can we do it doesnt matter what r0oot the birds take they are going to be hit somewhere along the line.cheers to everyone on the site and happy racing if you can call it that Well firstly we can stop feeed them ... unless you treat with 'Pour On' Secondarly, not to moan to bady's not interested!!! P.s. they are not interested, a proven fact! And start a fund for Eagle Owls and Clubs to purchase one each! and for Pete's sake get the fancy to wake up and get a PR Firm into place. Simple really... but then many for on stoney ground I guess. Easier to moan and wait for some one else to stop moaning and do something! WE! YES WE! We have to do something for ourselve, not him that has been voted in, they are too busy looking after each other and their muckers to stop feathering their own nests.
Roland Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 I am fortunately not affected here ( BUT will be someday sooner than later I guess), but will do a few Fund - raisers if interest is shown / there.
Roland Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 I think we are stepping a bit away from the main thing here , Surely it the organisations from within where we fly who should be persuing the RSPB and other hawk loveing autheritys, ... Instead of us helping this charity and that charity we should be looking after ourselves first after all charity begins at home !!! Well they aren't, as simple as that! Secondarily YES we should be using funds for our CHARITY 100%.
Merlin Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 It will not make one bit of difference whatever protest we do,they will not budge, and they have the laws of the land on their side, and the greater anmount of the public brainwashed,if we were to stop racing at this moment in time,in all probability half of this seasons nestlings would die of hunger, like all species, there are good an dbad hunters,Nature decrees only the finest survives, not so with Perigrines, these each and every one of them are being subsidised with protein parcels in abundance at a time when need mosti their breeding season/our racing season, racing pigeons are such an easy prey without any great effort, its unbeliveable, good hunters and bad hunters can survive quite easialy and procreate with large amounts of young, remove this easy acess to their rich protein food, let them survive on a diet of wild birds, half of them will perish withinn two years, differnt ball game then, trying to rear four chicks in a nest, when your prey is steeped in survival skills, much more energy expended hunting catching same, and when caught how many crows, starlings, finches, doves is required to equate to just one racing pigeon in protein, put some thought into it,its not a lost cause yet,our biggest enmy is not R.S.P.B but ourselves, as Roland says there is nothing to stop us racing a somewhat reduced race programe, its a real catch 22 situation, the primary loser in all this is pigeon fanciers, and yet we are most responsible for their population explosion.
