Maybe an idea to get the new RPRA manager up and running if Richard could set up a petition and signed by our members (loft nos) and more emphasis could be put on the use of the RPRA trailer to promote the sport at various shows - "no sense having a dog and having to bark yourself" - no disrespect intended

This is exactly what I meant earlier. Raise awareness get others onside and gain some momentum. Joe public needs to know the whole story otherwise some would let them think that the songbird population decline is due to global warming and not raptors as some would lead them to believe.

really good organisation but on speaking with one helper at scone palace game fair last year he had no idea the pigeon sport was suffering like the songbirds i soon put him in the picture

right behind his stall was the hawk demonstration that everybody wanted to see

YES BUT THEY DONT SHOW YOU THEM CATCHING/KILLING/MAIMING PREY. If Joe Public got to see what a sparowhawk really does to a pigeon or any other bird, and sees them left with chunks torn out of them, and still alive, then suddenly their popularity would soon decline. When the rspb allows cameras to view their precious charges, Joe Public never gets to see the prey struggling to survive. Go to youtube and search on sparrowhawk. If the BBC were to show things like that there would be uproar. They only show the dead prey taken to the nest as on the Oneshow. (Lets give the little cuties a name) When the BBC have done news items on the decline of sparrows,songbirds etc I have emailed in several times asking " why not ask the rspb about the amount of raptors" . Never been read out on air.

I think they sort of acknowledge this by saying that raptors kill anything 'up to pigeon size'.  Shoud say 'UP TO AND INCLUDING PIGEONS' !!!

National Trust, maybe - but never RSPB for me.  Too full of happy clappers.  I'm certainly stating my case to all those friends of mine who are songbird and (now) pigeon friendly.  If they continue their subscriptions, I've failed.  BUT I WON'T!!!!!!!!!!!

A couple of hundred members on here at £5 a time would be pushed to buy a trailer let alone run it around the country, you have to get the unions involved and charge every member. To be honest I haven't a clue how many members there are in UK and Ireland, but you've really got to start talking those figures to even start off. RSPB 1 million members!

Some of us have pledged money to 'your' fund, and are also trying to fight the RSPB from the inside by affecting existing members.
