kev01293 Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 now that is a very positive way of thinking , and i seriously mean that , because mr peregrine will turn into a canibal ;D and when you all finnish moaning about your losses that is what you will have to do , not flying racers for two years would seriously damage the wild peregrine populations and create a stir that would be investigated and then you would be heard im only a novice but if everyone stopped racing for a couple of years wouldnt percy and s/hawks just survive on feral pigeons and whats left of our wild birds? dont get me wrong as i think that nobody is gonna help us but ourselves and that we need to take action but its getting fanciers who are prepared to do that as i said im only a novice and i know that percy and s/hawks take a hell of a lot of our pigeons(which we should be allowed to protect by law ourselves) but wouldnt they survive taking feral pigeons as theres enough of em in our towns, cities and villages i totally agree that its now got to the stage where somethings gotta be done kev >
tyson Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 percy cant ferals easily as they stick close to buildings as if percy missed he would probably injure himself
Guest Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 google eagle owl ???then look at rspb spin on this Qiuote take frome their site: "...Eagle owls may colonise Britain in the future as the population recovers on the European mainland. If eagle owls arrive here naturally, the RSPB would welcome it, as we do the expansion of other colonising birds, such as little egret and Cetti’s warbler..." There you go, the RSPB welcome the Eagle Owl, and as there would be no possible way to prove natural or un-natural colonisation then there could not be any finger pointing at the fancy. I do love it when someone shoots themselves in the foot. Good find numpty. 8)
tyson Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 the best way to start a fund would be instead of us giving all of our money to charities we kept some back for our selfs that way we could get a proper fund established to purchase eagle owl chicks to be released into the wild what do you all think of the idea
Guest numpty01 Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 the best way to start a fund would be instead of us giving all of our money to charities we kept some back for our selfs that way we could get a proper fund established to purchase eagle owl chicks to be released into the wild what do you all think of the ideathe rspb would soon rid the british ilse of them if you go back to the salibury pair they wanted them distroyed but army wont let them on land to do it the one in clifton they wanted removed in fact may have done it by now so then back to square one
Guest numpty01 Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 can i point out before to much is said here the threads are being removed to another site and then forwarded to the bird crime unit so lets be senseable lads :-/ :-/ :-/ ;)
Guest Vic Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;Dstill say the quickest way to wipe them out is dont feed them your doos. 2 years no racing and training not much bops left. during the war when there was very little movement of pigeons in the uk there numbers were decimated and not all were shot or traped but loads starved. we could do it again on a bigger scale as they are very dependant on our pigeons nowadays to exspand and multiply. starve them out they wont last long. most pereg nest sites have 100,s of racing pigeon rings around them every year but this is well covered up bye the bop lovers as racing pigeons are there staple diet now yours and mine. They say they only take the sick and weak birds ..bull sh** they take the best. would you eat road kill if you had prime beef. The only drawback with your suggestion is that there won't be many pigeon flyers left in the next two years!
tyson Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 numpty01 how would we be commiting acrime by intoducing a bird that was once native here the rspb are doing it with percy red kites gosehawks etc get my meaning we would be introducing a native species back to britain
Guest numpty01 Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 tyson i agree fully mate but its iligal to relise but we??would never do that would we as we dont do these things do we
Guest stb Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 the rspcb must have changed there mind on eagle owls as years back when they were talkin about re introducing them they said they were not to keen as they are known to raid other bops nest and are very terratorial. over quite a large area. so lets introduce some soon.
Guest stb Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;DThe only drawback with your suggestion is that there won't be many pigeon flyers left in the next two years! well if there aint many pigeon flyer left no point in doin much about bops
