DeDarren Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 I just come across these pictures on the RSPB forum, of a female sparrowhawk eating what appears to be another sparrowhawk, believed by the twitchers to be a 1st year male. Is the worm in the foodchain beginning to turn? Would cessation of racing and flying our birds out in the U.K. for just 1 season see more widespread acts of cannibalism such as this? Food for thought.
Heinz-57 Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 tink this is to many in one area dominent one kills the lesser happens in other bird types
white logan Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 that is a thing with accipiters (sparrow hawks) the female often kills the male ;D
