Roland Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 Yes I certainly feel for you. Wanted their' chest treated with a salt and lard mixture each time out for exercise I'm afraid. Hopefully fanciers will start applying the mixture. Such a shame to die so needlessy in vain. Sad to say if they do have to ... The B.O.P. wouldn't have been back to day.
Guest numpty01 Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 roland at least give sound advice the perigrin eats from back neck through the shoulder or through middle wings so whats point of putting on chest pigeons dont get colds mate and thinking on the way youer birds are behaveing you said it was sat on cionservatry thats why they wont come down try staying in garden for few hours so they now youer about

magpie Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 Had a similar attack on Sunday when a peregrine chased our kit of 70 young birds almost as soon as they left the loft. Like yours they were terrified and disappeared into the distance with the peregrine in pursuit. Four came back almost immediately and more returned in ones and twos throughout the day. Sadly we are still 25 missing and as they had not been trained and only just started ranging I doubt if many more will be back. This happened the day after we won our section from NFC Tarbes and had all three of our entries on the winning day - talk about the ups and downs of pigeon racing !!!
