Guest red67 Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 it could do m8 theres lots of big fish dont know which type at bowling. i did think today that the bird i saw was pretty large compared to most of the buzzards i see as they are regulars round here usually the crows torment them but today there was nothing bothering this bird as i said earlier it was light coloured underneath maybe the same bird

Guest red67 Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 if it is feeding around the clyde it will no doubt like to dine on shopping trolleys ;D could even end up with a std with all the floating condoms lol
Guest spin cycle Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 i think you're very lucky to see such a wonderful bird. i don't think it'll be after your pigeons and as a bonus it may give the other raptors something to think about. if a bop doesn't attack pigeons then surely it's a friend JMO

Guest bigbok Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 your right about the ospreys been fish eaters and also will take carrion in hard times they do migrate to africa as a lot of raptors do the adults leave first end oct-nov and the young follow later on it is most likely a young bird with little or no territory and still not got the weght or brains to migrate it could even have had a bump in one of those shopping trollys and even be an escaped zoo or private collector but still no harm done and an absolute joy to see a one ps hope the red hen returns
johno Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 the singing ginger down that way must be powerful stuff.
PATTY BHOY Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 Alexandria in Dunbartonshire. My allotments right on the banks of the River Leven.. this year is the first id ever seen one.. now thats 4 times its been down.. but thats the lowest ive ever seen it tho..came right over the front of the loft.. I also work at Loch Lomond Golf Club and this season (im sure its the same one) has started hunting there as well.. I thought the nearest registered pair was Loch Sloy..?? Think theres only 17 or 18 registered pairs.. any problems with mink up your way jonesy
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 any problems with mink up your way jonesy naw but theres a few minks in my scheme due a fat lip..!!!! Touch wood never seen one... but farther down the river near fairplay.. Pip got one in his loft only got 10/15 doos as couldn't get to the next section.. Big Wullie McLean went and 'removed' it..
