just ask me Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 im not sure these photos being put face book are a good idea ,, too many people enjoy looking at them and making sick comments. they just make me sick and mad as hell. i belive that the blood sports groups etc will use the photos against us as in regards we know what will happen if we race them not my views of course but we have seen how they twist things but would not condem anyone that is trying
Guest mick bowler Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 I do feel sorry for those that are suffering but what really was expected? Last year must be one of the worse for "hits" or documented ones anyway, so this year was always bound to be worse if nothing was done. With most fanciers its kind of what you cant see you dont worry about, in the way that the winter has sent an awful lot of fanciers absent minded. This is a problem that is here to stay, FACT, and the most it will be prevelant is the training/racing season. As with most of this sport, the winter time is when you do a lot of sorting out and get rid of the problems and dont just sit and wait for it to start reaccuring. Charity begins at home and look after number one, if everyone took care of our local problems there would be a lot less of these threads. There are ample ways we can all do our bit, and until we all do, then this type of thread is going to become even more common.
pjc Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 plenty of tipplers etc about for winter flying/feeding ;)
Roland Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 Agreed Mick. And as for 'Another moves in' :-/ where from if everyone did their bit
Guest mick bowler Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 Agreed Mick. And as for 'Another moves in' :-/ where from if everyone did their bit Yes always others moving in, but a fanciers work is never done and never rest on your laurels!
wayfieldlofts Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 can you please tell me the name of the group on facebook as i am on there...thanks
Guest Owen Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 I can not see why you are concerned about a bunch of bullies on face book. If they want to come up with smart comments and stupid remarks, why worry about it. It is themselves they are making to look stupid. Our agreed aim is to send a message to the General Public because they will, in the end, decide what we will end up with. I think we should give this strategy a good go before we call it off. I my past I got to know quite a few of the dog and rabbit brigade. I used to find them trying to catch rabbits on my land and ripping the walls down as they did so. On one occasion they left a dog behind, which killed 14 of my lambs. The Owners were typical of the sort of people you are going on about. I had to suffer their threats and loud mouths until I dealt with them. The main loud mouth have trouble talking with his broken jaw. The others went very quiet afer that.
Fragimento Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 History tells us about the "millions upon millions" of American Passenger Pigeons. So many (they reckoned) that it was impossible to count them, they just never stopped streaming past on their migrational flights Spring and Autumn. But the guns started shooting them for fast food, and eventually the last one was shot. They became extinct. Now all they have are photos of them. One day there may come a time when it will be impossible for "another one to move in . . ." because there won't be another one. If there are enough determined people to ensure it.
Guest Davy Fleming Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 Even taking them 80 miles away and liberating them they still come back so what chance have we got . Better not say too much as getting to see the red mist in front of me just thinking about one getting caught and the pain it causes them .
Guest Owen Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 Fragimento, now you are telling it as it should be. Well done man.
sooty Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 SHU study last year was a lot of crap 2 i sent in lots of sheets with times of strikes never got word back
rasbull Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 Just to clarify I will be deleting anyone who interferes with the Facebook group. The Facebook Action page is purely a showcase for the carnage these birds are doing to our sport and the songbird population. I am not interested in debate, other causes as there are plenty of places on the internet these discussions can take place. This is purely for songbird lovers, pigeon fanciers to express there feelings and post pictures etc, so members of the general public can see exactly what is happening. Anyone trying to sabotage the page as I said will be banned permanently. I have a banned list of 76 so far, and comments, postings etc are being deleted as soon as they are seen by myself and Admins. The only comments I can not control are comments made by other people if someone other than myself has posted a picture. But as soon as a bad comment is made, the person making it is banned. Once the hawk enthusiasts have been banned it will be plain sailing. Richard Shepherd www.Rasbull-lofts.co.uk

Was North American (Canada) last one was named George and lived to be 27 I believe. Mind easy to google and yes it does making interesting reading... and enforces that one can never say never.
