AUSSIE_SPUD Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 Hello all, I am a flyer in the CCF in Australia flying in my second season. I have a Magic Blue pigeon in stock that was purchased from a stud sale here in Australia. I have a pedigree for the bird showing he is down from Magic Blue and most of the birds are GB rung. Can anyone tell me what family of pigeon(s) they were based on, as I cant find any information after a quick search but I found this forum as one of the members offered some for sale. regards Anthony

PIGEON_MAN Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 If I have the correct pigeon I believe Magic Blue was bred by Massarrella and sold for a very low price as a youngster to a father and son partnership in Derbyshire think the town was Wordsworth,I remember going there to a Eyesign show and meeting the actual owners and listening to the story about the pigeon. The bird actually went on to win something like 20 first prizes before Massarrella bought the bird back, cant remember the breeding but could well of been Janssenn based.Perhaps Carlsberg who is from up that way could give you the correct story.
AUSSIE_SPUD Posted August 8, 2008 Author Report Posted August 8, 2008 Thanks Guys for taking the time to reply... Like I said there is not much about them on the net so I do appreciate any info that anyone can give me. Just as a matter of interest I sent a young late bred Magic Blue cock on its first race at 360klm's and all though he wasnt my first home he done it quite easily and looked as though he only done a 30klm toss! We are just about to put them down here in Australia to start breeding for next year so its an exciting time of the year. cheers Anthony
