Guest llcoolj Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 This is very strange, I am new to the sport. About a month and half I decided to send all my ybs for the final race. I had two batches of ybs (Batch A (BA) & batch B(BB)). I did manage to train BA, unfortunetly could not do the same with BB. However for the final race I lost about 25 ybs, including one ybs bred by myself (Cock & Hen from Willy Thas) beautiful Grizzle. This Morning went down to feed my birds and voila the Grizzle was sitting on the trap with race ring still on its feat. After almost 2months. See her in picture here below.
just ask me Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 this is a regular thing in pigeon racing mate sometimes they live wild and when the feed gets scarce they make there way home
Guest llcoolj Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 Would you say the bird is for keeps or it would be waste of time?
Guest strapper Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 Would you say the bird is for keeps or it would be waste of time? you can never tell..good birds get lost as well as bad...it has to have some inteligence to work its way back...there are hundreds that dont and litter the streets for years.

jimmy_bulger Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 young birds are what they are young, and the young make mistakes now and then some are better pigeons later on and some arent . but all should be allowed at least 1 mistake.
pigeonpete Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 Would you say the bird is for keeps or it would be waste of time? Let the basket be the judge for you mate, Give it a go, I would have kept it away from your other birds for at least a week, and kept an eye out for any nasties all the best mate :-)
