RoryTheRed Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 Do anyone exercise their birds for a hour before training them? Take the fizz out of them before training, then they will race home for their food. Since restarting three years ago i haven't lost a single yb training and i'm no ace!
pjc Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 I always let them out before training especialy from short distances, it allows the birds to judge the position of the sun easier and takes the over exuberance out of them so they just home and don't spend hours looking around the area. Phil

RoryTheRed Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 i did yesterday, but some took all day from 20 miles, let go 10.30am got the last one back at 7.30pm Two things come to mind, magnetic disruptions or too much carbs in diet. My birds were going away for four hrs - six hrs ranging; one day returned with two cocks broken legs and a hen with half a wing missing so i left out the carbs and reduced their food to keep them near home. No more carbs until they go racing, no need to have it until then, IMHO.
