Ours go on the darkness on the Sunday the clocks go forward in March, so this year it will be the 28th I think.

They come of the darkness the first Saturday in June, so that will be 6th this year, they have about 10 - 11 weeks on the darkness.

put them on straight away get them into a routine it causes less stress take them off june the 9 this way u can add your 2 round and have them moulted out 2 dont worry about them holding your first round back because thay will be much slower off the mark than summer breads

but remember plenty of food at night before lock up grow them big and stong.

i have results second to none this way it realy works no strees

i don't put mine on the dark but i've been told they don't need to go on the dark until daylight gets longer than the night.

you should try some its just like flying old birds (i.e)widowed/paird/or natural as nom young

I used to put them straight onto the dark from weaning till the longest day but i now think that is too long to have them on we are going to put them on the last week in march-1st week in April and i will be taking them off early june

I think when they are left on from weaning this could be why some dont come well the following year as yearlings

agree with straight onto the dark. dont agree with what u say about the yearling may be u had a bit of bad luck with them or it could be to do with the 2 moult thay have
