  can anyone tell me if the yb i put under feeders will be ok...the feeders eggs should have hatched 4 days ago but they continued to sit the pot eggs till today when 2 eggs hatched, i took one yb from the parents and placed it with the feeders....will they feed/rear it ok or is the 4 days difference too much?

they should feed them ok, but if you've got youngbirds 4 days different in age the smaller one won't get milk for as long as the older. If they are healthy then let them get on with it but if the younger babe starts to drop behind and look under nurished etc then bin it.

i know that when pigeons are sat eggs they produce a small amount of milk shortly before they are due to hatch, and if they dont hatch it is absorbed into their system and they dont produce any more, just was wondering if the pair that have gone 4 days over still have the milk to feed with.....
