when do i put my birds on the darkness system and take them of it and what times, just new to the sport thanks every one

I am putting mine on darkness at 3 in the afternoon and when it gets dark at night , i  am talking the covers off, so that they wake up to natrural daylight, but most people are light from 8 till 4-5 that will work ;)

the darkness system is to fool the birds its winter,[better on it now] where they will have a full body moult, but retain their nest flights,,,  :)

will it be ok for me to put them on 2morrow till 21th of june will they drop flight or will i be ok

if they havent dropped any flights, theres a good chance of them holding them,, but you do get the odd one throw a flight at times,, good luck

Would`nt mess with that rubbish.

Keep them natural as you can.

March bred pigeons won 5 yb races last year average birdage 14 members 300 birds each week

with me not getting home till after 6 at night and leaving for work at 7.30am then at night after work working the roundabout pigeons, then letting the youngsters out for an hour does anyone who operates the darkness system think it would be possible to darken the loft down say from 10pm at night till i come home at dinnertime the next day to open the lofts up,your thoughts would be appreciated

sometimes better to shorten it and get them to cast a flight.come in to form sooner .not just for the last 2 races
