ok hopefully the loft is closed off at the front so they can't see each other when their out, they shouldn't be able to see each other when their in their own sections and lastly there should be a doorway of some sort between the 2 sections and are ur hens sitting on v perches or box perches

HI all

Can anyone tell me how to fly r/bout if you pair up and have them sitting for a time and how long before you intend to race

Are you asking when is the best time to split them prior to racing?

Posted

It is best you let them bring up a pair of youngsters then let them sit eggs again for around 8 days before you split them.

let them rear 1 nest then split  after sitting 10 days on 2nd eggs split hens into sec nextdoor treat if you need to clean boxs and turn bowl upside down cocks  in box section hens next door let the hens out the door move the cocks over to the hen sec close door let the hens back in next box sec. then let cocks out push hens back into there own sec and let the cocks back in there own sec. repeat twice a day easy peasy just to get the feeding right bobs your uncle

feeding is impotant you will need to measure it out approx ounce and a half per bird per day fed over two feeds i.e half ounce morning one ounce evening.when u let them out put the hens out first.to get them started i flag them for 20 mins gradual build up to 1 hr.what i do is once they get the message that as long as the flags are up they don't come down, then i can go in and clean the hens section out. After the hens have been flying for about 50 mins i walk the cocks thru to the hens section and shut the doo. then go back out take the flags down with a bit of patience the hens soon learn that when the flags come down, they can come down.once thy have landed open the trap and let them in to cocks section.Once their all in shut the trap and let the cocks out and repeat exactly the same.just after uv let the cocks out walk the hens back into there own section where there measure of food  should be in the hoppermy cocks are fed in gallipots in their nestbox.this is the basics u can tweak it to suit urself.hope this helps.u can pm me if uv any other questions
