ally mac Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 Was with the birds in the loft today and realised its mostly cocks that have suffered the odd loss in training and getting back injured. Only 1 hen injured but 2 cocks and another 2 missing. Also ended up with hens doing better than cocks last year. Has anyone else experienced the same or is it just coincidence? Al.
REDCHEQHEN Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 Hens did better than cocks in racing and lost a lot fewer hens especially in the longer races Only had injuries in the last old bird race
Guest Pearse Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 im racing 20 hens and 2 cocks this year lol
Guest frank dooman Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 ive found that some years its cocks and some its hens ally
ally mac Posted April 11, 2010 Author Report Posted April 11, 2010 Interesting, I was just wondering if hens, being a wee bit smaller, were more agile and maybe better able to avoid percy?
Guest frank dooman Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 i think if that was the case ally our huts would be full of hens and not so many cocks i think it evens its self out just the same some years you seem to breed more hens than cocks then the next year it evens its self out JMO
