theres quite a few bred for eating namely there squabs show kings and giant runts

Wrap them in bacon and put 1/2 a jalapeno in the cavity and slow smoke them they are terrific

i don't see much point using kings because they are slow at reproducing, its normally just wood pigeons.

Many moons ago I used to work with an elderly Philippino guy that as a lad bred King pigeons, they were bred just for eating (funnily enough he’s name was Percy). He told me they kept them in small bamboo type cages to restrict their movement, this was done to keep the meat as tender as possible, they were culled at the squab stage.
