What are peoples thoughts and views on the Van De Pol Hofkens? performance, breed, etc.

I know a lot of belguim and dutch fanciers have used them for a good crossing into there own pigeons,but id say yes they are very good pigeons.

My Hofkens pigeons are mostly down from Nelles Van de Pol's famous "Goede Jaarling of `81". Van de Pol was a cattle breeder and a close friend to the rich butcher Gust Hofkens, this is why I think v/d Pol had the best Hofkens. Gust Hofkens passed away in `77, Van de Pol died in `87, all their birds were sold in public auctions.

middle distance birds never had them but from what i heard there suppose to be a great cross a friend i race against has these  ill ask what hes opinion is of these

I have been researching on these birds and they seem to have quality in them......

mine were from verheyenen he was very close with gust and im lead 2 believe his son still retains alot of old blood ...infact im sure mike ganus has recently bought a top bird from him..

Got a 2001 Hoefkens cock  and a 2001 hen here now bred by Ian Axe and they have turned out some real good youngsters.

i once new a bloke  who scored with hofkens birds, in the early Ninety's his name was Des shaw  he was known at the time as the Beverly king, and he flew in the Beverley beavers club iam sure, he also had some cracking vandenbosch  from the super couple lines, that  lifed prizes in every race they entered he had a brother who is a horse trainer  and a son  who liked the birds don't know if he is still alive or not  but a good guy

yep thats  who  Des shaw bought all his birds from and he had bought  muleman x  vandenbosh Jansen's, the super couple lines  pencil pieds, blue pieds,  all  up front birds and apple bodied  dont  know if any one flys them from that line or not ;D

on pedigree about hofkens , just full of intrnational winners , he,s a dark white flighty , bred me birds to score right through to tarbes which is 694 mile to me
