I'm interested in Rapio Busschaerts,

Do you know anyone who flys well with Rapio Busschaerts lines?

does John Crowder have much success racing wise. Have seen his adverts for his busschaerts and he reckons if you could go back in time it would be like buying off the master himself etc etc and all his bloodlines are the purest in the UK etc.

Just curious as if they are good birds who people have success with I would def buy some off him but I've never heard of the guy before.

Paulo,

I know John Crowder very well.  He no longer races but when he did, he was an excellent flyer.  He had 62 direct Busschaerts from George Busschaert and has kept the families as pure as you can.  He kept all the Pluto lines, Crayonne lines, Rapido lines and Little Black lines seperate.  He no longer has any Rapidos but when I was last there, he had some beautiful Little Black youngsters.

Thanks TT will get some off him next year. Was interested as I like bushchaerts but its hard to know where to go to buy decent birds as there is that mnay adverts out there you don't know where to go especially if you are new to the sport.

A fellow club member of mine had them from R Forbes and did quite well with them until he packed up.

If anyone wants the old, old, old dark Busschaert lines, I know of a man that has countless numbers of them.  They go back through the Coppi, 45, Muskateer lines.  He keeps only the Dark Busschaerts and trys to keep the blood as original as possible.   He is also a mine of information on them.   PM me if interested.  Also on the plus side, he's not expensive.

Steve is one of those young uns you give me a dark one? Or are they normally black rather than just dark chequars?

Hi Paul,

The dark ch is a son of a Dark Ray Forbes cock and a cheq Ray Forbes hen, so he should throw out Dark YBs for you.

The Dark Pd is also through the Ray Forbes pigeons and dam is a Dark pd so you should get some dark'uns of it.

The Blue'n is a daughter of a cock that was 22nd UNC last year and has two other wins to his name so she has some really good blood in her.

The chq pd is off a cock that should have topped the fed as a YB, but he sat on the roof for 7mins.

The blue flipey is off a cock that was 3rd Claremont for me this year as a yearling and the dam is a daughter of a busheart cock that had numerous wins for the lad who bred me it.

Hope this all makes easy reading!!

Steve
