try and keep them off his roof,if you can adjust there food so they come straight down when they land on the roof,or even better have them trapping straight into the loft.I think you might have given them a bad habbit from the start and need to get them out of it.

First things first is can your neighbour prove that its your pigeons that are shitting on his house and not the local Starlings or crows and I wouldnt think he could. Next step would be to contact the RPRA nh see what they are saying and what they can do to help.Thirdly  you could try to keep your birds off the roofs by only letting them outfor excercise n straight back in which would benefit you in the long run as then they wont sit out when homing fom the races .

Oh dear Ben..maybe you could compromise with your neighbour?  How about agreeing to only have your birds out for one hour twice a day?  Don't let them land on his roof - I gave my neighbour a tennis ball to lob at the birds, if they went on his roof, and they soon learnt not to go there!  Keep your birds flying whilst they are out - you could flag them - I think that Westy has success doing this.  Good luck. :)

i would tell him you'll throw a stone at them when they land on his roof,

then i would put it thru his window,

i had a guy next door he said the birds had craped on his windows,

i told him their was more crap on his wifes knickers when she put them on the washing line, he never spoke to me again.dont know why lol  :D

I wouldnt loft fly them, and try to only train them every day, keeping them nice and hungry, so they come straight in. Obviously only being 13 you may struggle to get them training everyday, but if you can then it would solve the problem.

Out flying or in the loft do not let them sit out anywhere then maybe your neighbour will calm down

I've had exactly the same trouble with my neighbours.

first, he came and knocked on the door and started kicking off ---- so he was told where to go!

second, I had planning permision people knocking at the door saying my loft was too big and it had to be pulled down ------ so I did some homework and found that a back garden loft had to be 5 metres from the house and it can't cover more than half your garden------ so they were told where to go!

third, I had enviromental health up saying my birds had to be removed because a neighbour complained about the sh** on his roof and the birds cooing down the chimney ----- so I stopped the birds going on his house roof by (as already mentioned) cutting the food down and calling them in as soon as they land!

and now 6 years later never had any trouble and the birds trap quicker anyway!! ;)

neighbours every body needs good neighbours lol.

Agree with the ball & neighbour shifting the birds from his roof with it. Better with a soft rubber ball, brighter colours best. Needs only a couple of days for the birds to catch on they shouldn't be up there.

Does two things: (1) Gets your neighbour on your side, cos you are showing that you are not happy with the birds sitting up there either, and you're doing something about it. (2) Gets your birds out of a bad habit which will cause you endless probs if it goes on, with the neighbours, with the council and of course on race days, when the bleedin things are sat on the roof  :'( instead of being in the clock.  :'(

Ben

Firstly I have just had a holiday in Looe and must say what a fantastic place, although I didnt see many racers flying out.

Right on to your neighbour, please inform him that racing pigeons because they are fed a cereal diet cant and dont poo when flying. They will push it out prior to striking off so that it comes out at the start of flight but not during flight. If they are having a poo during flight then your feed is far too light. Wild birds that poo during flight do so because their diet is mainly seed/fruit/berries based which would make you and I loose. Compare it to a human, unless you had diarohia you would be unable to poo whilst running (lactic acid and all that), this is because of the diet in Europeans.

Now the neighbour obviously has a downer on pigeons so you need to turn the charm on. firstly go round and explain to them that you took up pigeon racing as you didnt want to end up on the streets abusing old people and with an asbo. You believe that at 13 learning o understand nature is better than loutish behaviour. Then strike a deal where you will tidy up their lawn if they will let you have he pigeons.

LASTLY never ever let your birds sit on the roof, you are in charge, you are the manager. when they are ready to drop after exercise get them in and feed them. they will soon get used to coming straight down for food an dthose that dont, then dont feed them and leave them out (I once had a young hen 1982 that stayed out for 5 days before coming in, what a breeder she turned out to be) Ben be in charge of them and remember if they fly off for good they take their crop withn them ;-)

If you want advice mate feel free to pm me, good luck
