Hey Ace you will regret your decision when channel racing is suspended until end of June nx yr :K) The sprint boys will be sending to Exeter, Yelverton, Truro & Sennon Cove while you be Fed racing...Your chance for glory is only a wind direction away in these races. Reconsider mate, your loaded anyway, can't be the money lol Up the Cheski :P

I HAVEN'T SEEN ANY NEWS INDICATING THERE WILL BE KNOW CHANNEL RACING IN 2007, THERE IS A LITTLE DOUBT REGARDING IT, BUT AS U REMEMBER THERE WAS A BIG DOUBT IN 2006 AND IT TOOK PLACE, AND AS FAR AS UK GOES NOTHING HAS HAPPENED REGARDING BIRD FLU, SO LETS ALL JUST HOPE FOR THE BEST AND WAIT AND SEE.

Just an example friends of 'WHATIF'..nothing is certain pigeons or life. I spent the end of May to Sept laid up with spinal problems and spent alot of time researching AI & writing letters to MP's and MEP's trying to get this mess soarted out. Thankfully some channel racing occurred, though many fanciers didn't even bother to race  or breed due to the uncertainity of racing ever occuring. Defra has had 3 different leaders since AI  raised its ugly head and we are no nearer to knowing their assesment of pigeon racing from across the channel; we do know that Defra hasn't a clue which end a pigeon shites from or how much charity money has been collected by fanciers, they just think about what Red Ken said ' Flying Rats '.

I received dozens of replies by post and email from MP's & MEP's and all said the same - Defra law is law and the law stands; i even enquired about taking Defra to the European courts but was told that i would have to go through the British system first before even getting seen for a European review of Defra's handling of tax paying citizens of the UK.

I shall not expect any decision from Defra before June nx year, so i shall end up racing from the North from nx April. If by any chance they do arise from their inertia and allow racing from the channel and we know before April then i shall send south and be as pleased as the rest of channel fliers.

Finally i would like to say that alot of fliers are now sprint directed and they don't seem to care about the postponement of channel racing and of course it doesn't effect them and alot seem to have the attitude of ' I'm alright Jack ' - PLEASE BE AWARE THAT IF AI DOES ARISE AGAIN ALL RACING CAN BE BANNED!!! We need to show Defra that pigeons are not carriers of AI and we won't be bullied by grey suits and head in the sand government attitudes. 21st century fliers have all the answers at their fingertips, we just need to re - discover early 20th commitment to one another.

Over and Out ;)
