I read about it on the book(secrets of the racing ace) by old hand.He saya it is not good for racing.Reason reumatic fever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just asking???????????

Some fanciers used to think the white edges on the outside tail flights was a sign of weakness or too much inbreeding. Just a fad in my opinion, lots of good racers and breeders have this trait.

Heard much the same : a longish time ago some folks considered the white edge running along the outside of the outermost tail feathers as a sign of 'weakness'.

 

Think you'll find nowadays that these 'white streaks' are recognised as a trait, something that occurs naturally in certain coloured birds.

i have 2 x 06 birds and both have white streaks on tails i jus thought it was in there colours as one is pied and other is white flighted ,lol

I have had birds with white streaks to their tails and both were from the same family and were good birds very consistent for 5 years

I've never seen the white edge on reds or mealys in my loft.

 

Just to make people think reds etc; do not have tail bars:- so how many have blues/cheqs with or without tail bars. Some of mine do, some don't and they are sometimes nestmates.

If your talking about the thin whitish streaks on the outside of the outside tail feathers its natural in almost all blue racing pigeons.  Don't worry about them, they won't hurt or help..
