Guest CS Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 Round about for old birds... Darkness young birds....
Wiley Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 widowhood old birds, darkness and widowhood young birds
birdman55678 Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 I prefer the natural system. Its much easier for me to motivate them without taking the chance of knocking them out of form.
sapper756 Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 Natural 10pairs, roundabout 12pairs, and darkness for youngsters.
harty Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 widowhood for the old cocks natural for hens find they come better from the channel to eggs and they will notbeat the cocks on the inland races unless its a hard race the youngbirds on just a natural way but train them alot but only 20 miles every other day or so
jimmy white Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 i would fly the system that suited you, ie work family etc comittments, i also found that some pigeons suited differant systems too
harty Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 yes! to fly the way we fly dose take alot of time but you only get out what you put in what ever way you race them
jimmy white Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 ;D ;D ;D know a great fancier who raced the" KENWOOD" system, he used a kenwood food mixer connected to his fronts , worked all with a timer switch , had a tape of the dawn chorus and the footsteps going to his loft the sound of the lock un locking and his voive" c,mon then"and all birds were let out at 6am when he was still in his bed ;D ;D till it got stuck one day ;D ;D ;D he then went back to an alarm clock at his bed side ;D ;D ;D,,,,,,and this is true ;D ;D ;D [wont give anymore hints away ;D ;D ;D] as i know whos looking now ;D ;D ;D
Guest speckled Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D but "Kenwoods " went bust lol ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Speck

andy Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 30 COCKS ON WIDOWHOOD, 60-70 YOUNGSTER, ABOUT 50 DARKIES. MAYBE TRY SOME HENS ON WIDOWHOOD NEXT SEASON, WAITING TO HEAR OF IMPENDING HOUSE MOVE.
pj1001 Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Old birds natural first 3-4 races, then cocks and hens put roundabout for around 6 weeks with old birds natural again for last 2-3 races. Young Birds natural until 2 flights moulted then approx 6 weeks semi-darkness then natural light again PJ

Beanz Posted December 6, 2006 Report Posted December 6, 2006 Widowhood cocks and young birds natural but may have a dabble at darkness next year
Beanz Posted December 6, 2006 Report Posted December 6, 2006 Widowhood cocks and young birds natural but may have a dabble at darkness next year. only race 12 cocks and to me to get the best out of them consistantly has to be widowhood
carl Posted December 7, 2006 Report Posted December 7, 2006 darkness youngbirds flying to the perch, oldbirds natural as i fly on my own and i find this easy for me when training etc.
stevebelbin Posted December 7, 2006 Report Posted December 7, 2006 Cant beat having cocks on widowhood for condition - I hate have pigeons paired up and chasing and doing those big craps after being sat on the nest all day or night LOL
carl Posted December 7, 2006 Report Posted December 7, 2006 Cant beat having cocks on widowhood for condition - I hate have pigeons paired up and chasing and doing those big craps after being sat on the nest all day or night LOL your rite there steve, natural is a lot more smelly than widowhood, super size pigeon poo
