chubs Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 Are there strains that people agree are better suited to certain locations in u.k?
Guest Hjaltland Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 I think you could argue logically that the poorer - colder - wetter the weather is in your area, the better quality feathering has to be and the stronger the character and constitution of your birds has to be. So, if you can identify those traits with certain 'strains' then you would have an answer. Personally I would forget about the term strain and go to someone who wins in your area. Best of luck
Merlin Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 The obvious answer is similar to above, its the type/strain of birds thats winning on a regular basis into whatever area its being raced
Roland Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 The obvious answer is similar to above, its the type/strain of birds thats winning on a regular basis into whatever area its being raced In a nut shell the answer is deffinately Yes! Of course location make make the birds hardier etc. and ALL accustome to the weather condition ... But a better question is Strains V locations.... Location everytime, bar when Haley's commet gets lost in Africa's 'Blue Moon'!
schouwman71 Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 yes i agree, different strains fly better in different locations, the harder the land the harder the pigeons you need. Those pigeons the fly the full distance into scotland are very hard good pigeons,on flat land into yorkshire maybe wouldnt win,?
Guest j.bamling Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 i would agree with what you have said also schouwman71
