chaz Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 Does anybody still keep this family of pigeons , it is what my old family were based on and I heavily inbred to a pure bred Joe Shore cock GB93 T 68408 Just wondered if there were any still any around as would love to start with these again before looking for a new strain to start back up with
chaz Posted March 24, 2009 Author Report Posted March 24, 2009 Some pics of my old family The foundation cock a direct Joe Shore His son flown 500 miles 3 times and father to my cock that was only bird on the day in the club at 500 miles 6th fed 7 day birds some of the stock down from these 2 cocks An inbred young cock that would of been the next step in the family Of I hadn`t been forced to give up Inbred daughter/granddaughter of the old cock and a hen from her
chaz Posted March 24, 2009 Author Report Posted March 24, 2009 Unfortunately NO my lofts were on the farm where I worked and when I was made redundant I had to get rid and nobody local was interested in them as they all fly the newer Belgian and Dutch super families (although my Shores did a good job of beating them lol) Just wish I could find some more now I am re-starting
pjc Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 I remember meeting Joe, a great guy, somebody must still have some of his birds but i think its a few years since i've seen any.
Novice Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 The Joe Shore birds were real quality. I had a friend who introduced them into this area and wone with them almost immediately. I believe the originals were managed very close to nature. Unfortunately I don't know anyone who has these now.
