Fife King if you are a member of the RPRA your Clock should it not be three way tested scrutinised by other regions at the start of the season and after its taken off kept on the Clubs premises does this happen in you Club or do you just do what you like?

Posted

I can remember away back nobody could afford a clock and we had to run to the post office only well off people had a clock ...was that fair did everyone leave the sport cos a few folk had ..no they didn't  Did those having their own clock not have an unfasir advantage

FK , Do you have better competition in your new Club. How many members does you entire organisation have. Are you saying you will leave the Sport.or your Dad will if ETS is accepted

I just dont get what the problem anyone has with ETS, as Ive posted B4, its just another way of clocking at the end of the day. It doesnt make your birds come home faster, and surely if you cant afford it no one is forcing everyone to get it. I can and would get it if we were allowed to use it in our fed, but I wouldnt expect it to improve my pigeons, it would just take the stress of not being their for my birds when we have holdovers and I have to go to work and I would be able to log what time all the birds came in from every race.

GREAT POSTING SBELBIN TOTALLY AGREE I TO OFTEN HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS AS TO WEATHER OR NOT I WILL BE AT HOME WHEN THE BIRDS ARRIVE AS I WORK FOR MYSELF.WHY SOME PEOPLE HAVE THIS CRAZY IDEA THAT YOU HAVE AN ADVANTAGE OVER THEM IF YOU HAVE THE E.T.S. I DO NOT KNOW.I WOULD CERTAINLY GET IT ALSO  IF I CAN AFFORD IT.

I just dont get the problem

Edited the quote on your post intentionally, Sbelbin. Hope you don't mind. You and I are talking about ETS. I HAVEN'T A SCOOBIE WHAT THE OTHERS ARE TALKING ABOUT. But in Scotland, some would call it pure mince.

Time to move on lads ... perhaps into adulthood & the 21st century?

This handy electronic device is the ideal unit to start with. It's easy to handle and extremely user friendly.

The electronic clocking system EXPRESS with its integrated antenna (clocking tunnel) is the ideal combination of efficiency, high tech and low price.

The EXPRESS can manage up to 250 pigeons.

EXPRESS can be expanded as your needs change - If one clocking tunnel is not enough you can attach up to a further SIX additional single trap anntenae. An exchangeable battery guarantees its ability to continue clocking/functioning, even if the mains power fails. The EXPRESS is 100% compatible with its bigger brother, the ATIS TOP.

Stores up to 3 races  Price £ 249.00

Electronic Timing Systems (ETS) are (at the time of going to press) not allowed under RPRA (and other union) ruling. They can under RPRA ruling, at present, be used only for training purposes.

Only £250 now that is cheaper than a t3 is it not..Only downside its mains only so no good to me on a allotment.

AS YOU CAN SEE THE BENZING ETS HAS NOT BEEN APPROVED FOR USE BY THE SHU.

THE ONES THAT HAVE BEEN APPROVED BY THE SHU ARE UNIKON, VICTORY, AND TauRIS

Our club went with Unikon. Been useing it for two seasons now. We all love it. Even the ones that drug their feet and didn't want to change all love it now too. I am race secretary and it was a lot of new stuff to learn and there is still a few bugs to work out useing it with our race results program. But I am very satisfied. They also have great people to call for assistance. My only complaint is the cost of the chip bands. But I just heard that someone is makeing a universal band that will take the place of both club band and chip band. Has anyone heard of such a thing and the details like cost and where to buy?

Check under Mealybar's 'Ring Innovation' for details.

From what I have seen of the Benzing Express it's not very user friendly, we spent the extra cash and bought The Atis Top.  We are now using Unikon in Oregon and find it a far better system

yeh good idea but i would like to know just how hack proof it is ! We all know  there have been numerouse abuses in the sport over the years unfortunatly & a life ban has failed 2 deter in the past. The real question is if we go to E T S's how can the average club hope 2 have the knowledge to catch someone if they find a way of hacking this system ??

Posted

Just a thought on how would we know if the ets systems were being hacked into, give out the wrong lib time that would catch them out even those that would try it with conventianal clocks.i think they would have to be really really clever to do it.

The point I was making that amidst reasonable discussion on ETS, the dummies and tits that you appear unusually expert on come into the thread just for a bit of needle and a snipe at someone ... anyone. Good information or not ... NOBODY is going to listen ... everybody's just switched channels, see, we've kinda outgrown that Primary 1 Punch & Judy stuff..
